Originally carpenter/joiners of period property features. Over the years we’ve attracted a bit of publicity for our efforts in preserving period wooden windows and doors:
“At the time it seemed that everyone was having plastic double glazing installed without realizing the huge loss to our built environment that would cause. Nowadays there are by-laws and Conservation Areas preventing this but it wasn’t the case when Sashpro started out. We we’re joiners of doors and windows already but we took this issue seriously and steered alternative thinking, as the press above and the following documents show, keep an eye on the dates…”

Gently persuading the influential in 1995:
From there we managed our first major contract as approved contractors for Kensington & Chelsea, the amazing Debenham House in Holland Park:
We designed and produced elements to remove those draughty elements associated with older style windows:
No ordinary double glazing would do for period windows or doors. New sealed units that are thinner but just as effective were introduced and publicised on Grand Designs in 2005.
Our first flyer circa 1990…well, in those days there was virtually no internet and you’ve got to start somewhere! And no, we don’t use flyers anymore – we like to help preserve trees for more substantial uses like making beautiful and efficient things that last a lifetime.
Hip (hippy) homes in Notting Hill saw the light and we ‘recovered’ those gems, saving them from the plastic window syndrome ‘distinction’.
Since then we’ve refurbished, renewed, draught proofed, double glazed
and basically helped to ensure the preservation of the box sash window
the period casement window and period wooden doors in houses,
flats, and offices throughout London and the Home Counties.
